A highly capable and independent Data Analyst is required to join a growing Data Analytics and Intelligence team. This role is designed for a professional who thrives on working with limited supervision, brings deep experience in data integration and analytics, and is focused on delivering high-value business outcomes.
In this pivotal role, you will transform complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving business performance by analysing large, complex datasets, identifying key trends, and providing actionable insights to stakeholders across the organisation. You will work with a variety of data sources.
Success in this role depends on a strong understanding of data platforms, a business-driven mindset, and a passion for producing quality work while working alongside an experience and collaborative team of data professionals. The position would suit someone with strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills to deliver meaningful insights to stakeholders across the organisation.
Key duties of this role are to:
- Manage end-to-end delivery of the data analytics lifecycle with business teams, including requirements gathering, documentation (MS SharePoint, data catalogue, O365), dashboard development, scheduled reporting, and ad-hoc analysis to deliver timely insights
- Translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions and engage stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making
- Analyse, understand, and present meaningful insights, observations, findings, and recommendations within SLA timelines
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable data models (e.g. star schema, semantic layer) to support reporting and analytics
- Design and implement data visualisations using best-practice approaches to ensure usability, performance, and minimal manual maintenance
- Utilise tools such as Snowflake, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, MS Power BI, Informatica IICS, and Python for data ingestion, transformation, analysis, and visualisation
- Administer and manage Data Analytics and Content Management platforms including Azure Power BI and MS SharePoint, covering configuration, setup, user access, gateways, and automation using admin tools, APIs, and scripting
- Manage user access and security across platforms using Azure applications, role-based access control (RBAC), and row level security (RLS) controls in Power BI semantic models, reports and visualisations.
- Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytics outputs
- Monitor and optimise performance of dashboards, queries, and data pipelines to ensure scalability and efficiency
- Manage end-to-end delivery of data analysis service requests across business units using ServiceNow and other platforms, ensuring SLA compliance
- Apply and enforce data governance practices including data quality, integrity, privacy, documentation, and lineage tracking aligned with organisational standards
- Provide user enablement, training, and support to promote self-service analytics and improve data literacy
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and peer review to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement across analytics processes, tools, and data platforms
What you can bring to the team
You are a self-motivated and analytical professional with a strong technical foundation in data platforms and visualisation tools. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Must have a minimum 7+ years of proven local work experience as a Snr. Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Specialist, Advanced Data Analyst or related business data analytics, insight and science roles.
- Deep experience with data analysis, investigation, representation, documentation and remediation of business data reporting and analysis requirements, data pipeline and representation issues, data quality issues, root cause analysis, data science and pattern analysis will be highly regarded.
- Must have a minimum 5 years of current / recent (no more than 12 months old) data analytics, insight presentation, and experience with MS Power BI, SQL, using Snowflake / MS SQL Server, Azure / AWS databases is essential.
- Must have a minimum 3 years of recent (no more than 12 months old) experience with Data Analytics Platform management with Azure Power BI Server, Windows Server Management and Azure Server Management.
- Hands on experience with Python, R Analytics, Tableau, Alteryx, Knime or other data with relevant certification will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract meaningful, actionable insights, even when data is influenced by multiple external factors.
- Proven experience working across diverse databases and analytics platforms, particularly Snowflake, Azure ADF and ADLS will be highly regarded.
- Working independently to analyse business requirements, build proposals, take a data problem and solve it from start to finish with least supervision and assistance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clarify analytical requirements, promote best-practice use of insights, and present findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in implementing data governance standards, guidelines and procedures related to data analytics, and insight.
- Strong data cataloguing and documentation skills, ensuring analytical processes, logic, and outputs are clearly captured, accurate, and sustainable for long-term use.
You will be required to undertake a "Fit2Work" National Criminal History Check andhold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
